ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
The Dark Horse Eskrima Martial Arts Academy was founded at the University of South Carolina as a sanctioned student lead organization from 2011 to 2015. In 2023 the organization officially opened to the general public in the efforts to share artistic knowledge of two rare forms of Southeast Asian martial arts known as Filipino Eskrima and Indonesian Pencak Silat. These are general terms for martial arts of Southeast Asia because of the numerous styles that exist in both the Philippines and the Indonesian archipelago.

Chief Instructor Zach Jenkins is skilled in the Dark Horse Arts of Eskrima, Pencak Silat, and Tiger Swallow Praying Mantis Kung Fu. He has over 40 years of experience in the martial arts and is known as a teacher of teachers.
