Which weapon will I learn first?

It usually depends on the style of Filipino Martial Arts. Most systems of eskrima teach the single stick or baston first before moving on to other types of weapons.
Why does eskrima teach weapons first?

Unlike most martial arts taught in the world, eskrima is a weapons based system which means that a variety of weapons are taught first and then empty hand techniques are derived from what is learned from weapons. Many years ago in the Philippines it was necessary to learn how to use weapons first in order to protect a village from external invaders. The tradition of weapons first continues to this day.
What is Dark Horse Eskrima?

Dark Horse Eskrima was founded by Punong Guro Zach Jenkins in 2011 and is comprised of several known styles of eskrima. The parent system comes from Warriors Eskrima which was created initially by Grand Master Abner Pasa of Cebu Philippines. The Chief instructor currently is Punong Guro Krishna Godhania of Birmingham England.
